This old school variety is still relative today with its incredible production and outstanding deep red colored juicy crisp fruit. A home landscape winner with a long shelf life.

Tree Features:

   Bloom Color: Pink
   Bloom Time: mid Spring
   Mature Height: 12-15 ft
   Mature Spread: 12-15 ft
   Harvest: Medium-sized red & green fruit in September

   Zone: 5-8

   Pollination: Cross-pollination by a different variety of mid Spring blooming apple tree within 50' is key to its growth and success.

   Placement: Full Sun 

Nursery Stock Specifications:

               Pot Size: 7 gallon

               Age: 3+ years old, fruiting

Fruit Profile:

   Color:  Deep red skin and flushed over with yellow-green, with creamy yellow flesh   
   Texture: Smooth, thick skin, very firm, crisp & juicy
   Taste: Sweet, tart & slightly spicy, wine-like flavor with low acidity
   Cooking: Great all-purpose apple for cooking & baking, sauce & cider

   Origin: New Jersey

    Care:

    • Feed twice a year with a slow release fertilizer. Fertilize in early spring before growth starts and late fall after the leaves have fallen and the ground isn't yet frozen. (5 minutes of work)
    • Prune in late winter to remove crossing branches and promote good airflow to encourage fruiting. (5-10 minutes of work) our tree.
