The Story

Common Sage is a compact woody perennial herb used for culinary and medicinal purposes.  The strongly aromatic, velvety green leaves are topped by short flower spikes with tiny flowers that can be soft blue, pink, or purple in spring.  Sage in the garden deters many pests while attracting beneficial pollinators. Grows best in full sun and well draining soil.  Drought tolerant once established.
