The Story

Hinnonmaki Red Gooseberry is a thorny deciduous shrub with a compact mounding habit and lobed green foliage that turns bright red in fall.  Insignificant white flowers in mid spring are followed by large edible red berries in mid summer that have sweet flesh but tart skin.  Best flowering with full sun and well-drained soils.  Drought tolerant once established.
